The Caterham 7 LED Headlight Inner upgrades your Caterham 7 standard 5 3/4″ headlights with the latest LED headlight technology.
This LED headlight inner will upgrade your headlights to the same LED headlights as fitted by Caterham cars as an after market upgrade. It will increase the performance of your Caterham’s headlights whilst maintaining the classic Caterham 7 look.
This Caterham 7 LED headlight inner upgrade fits both black and silver 5 3/4″ headlights. They are also available in right and left hand drive variations.
Fully type approved and certificated for UK and European use, unlike most other LED headlamps.
Caterham 7 Daytime Running Lights (DRL)
The LED centre bar is activated when the side lights are switched on and this replicates Daylight Running Lights (DRL) as used by most new cars sold today.
It is known from in-depth accident studies that failing to see another road user in time (or at all) is a contributing factor in 50% of all daytime accidents and for daytime intersection accidents this increases to as much as 80%.
Psychological research shows that DRL not only improves the visibility of motor vehicles in daytime, but also influences the timing and perception of other road users. Moreover, cars with DRL are better identified and their distances are estimated more safely compared to cars without DRL.
This is easily one of the best safety modifications for your Caterham 7.

I didn’t find the LEDs were significantly better than original halogens to be honest, and the full beem definitely shines quite far infront, even after being setup correctly. Great upgrade for any 7. I tried various halogen headlight bulbs which were an improvement over the standard but nothing compared to these LED ones. For me the best part is the sidelight bar, it’s discrete but bright when lit. Offering a perfect balance for use as a DRL.

After failing an MOT for headlights, I had to find a reliable, MOT compliant set of replacements. When removing the previously installed LED headlights, it became clear that they were cheap Chinese copies. They were spraying light everywhere with no hope of ever capable of passing the MOT. With the adage ‘you pay for what you get’ I decided to buy the JAL LED headlights and hoped they would fit the bill. Fitment was easy with some minor electrical work (crimping one spade connector) and a few days later my Caterham passed its MOT. Fully recommend these headlights, they’re not cheap but you can be confident they will meet the satisfaction of your MOT inspector and light the road well when driving at night.

expensive but definitely worth it, huge difference in light levels, dipped and main but the daylight running strip will be a life saver (cars have pulled out on me in the past). There are cheaper alternatives i looked into but the LEDs used in these are far superior (osram) and the others will make the car look like brum (not my taste)

Maybe not the cheapest upgrade, but worth every single penny! In fact, cost wise this is a good deal when compared to £800 additional cost if you were to upgrade to LED headlights on a new Caterham order.
As for the lights – A superb quality unit, perfect white light and so much brighter than standard headlights, with DLRs as well, this makes it a good safety upgrade.
What has surprised me the most is how fresh the front of my car looks with the clear lenses – so much better!

So far, excellent product, reasonably easy to fit and a big improvement over the standard units. When fitting you need to fit female spades to red and black feed cables for the sidelights. Ensure you leave enough cable on the old bulb holders to fit male spades so you can refit standard lights if necessary in the future.

Units delivered in time for Christmas. Well done Doug. Car now filament free and all LED. Fitting an easy day affair. Front indicator housings needed slight easing. Fog lamp and reversing light easier to fit connectors to cables rather than replace complete housing. Number plate T4 lamps replaced with Halfords 233 upgrade bulbs. Not yet aligned or tested in the dark but all looks good so far.
