The Wouxun KG-UV86 is fitted with a long life 2600mah Li-on battery pack. A single charge will give up to 72 hours of use. Obviously the battery life is determined by the amount of transmitting that takes place.

The Wouxun KG-UV86 has two power modes, 1 watt and 7 watt. An output of 7 watts can theoretically reach 20+ miles in the right conditions. However there are many factors to take into consideration such as, line-of-sight, weather, frequency and obstructions.
